Taylor Simmons was born and upbringing in Atlanta, Geogia and curently working and living in New York City. His multi-media paintings and works on paper incorporate hazy fluorescent depictions of everyday life, collectively forming an archive of compulsively collated imagery. His cinematic compositions are samples and fragments of his surroundings, from his upbringing in Atlanta, Georgia to his years in New York City, where he currently works and lives.

Where's my hug at? features cinematic compositions through samples and fragments of his surroundings and combines memories from the artist’s adolescent years with found imagery from ebay and YouTube, retold in his paintings as stages in the Hero’s Journey, a narrative trope through which the artist questions the conventional performance of masculinity.
