Sixi Museum is pleased to announce Lights Out, a group exhibition from 8 December 2024 to 16 February 2025 under the theme “Collision of Personal Emotions and Cultural Space”.

The exhibition will present the colourful emotional worlds of artists from China, the UK, the US, France, Belgium, and India, who either examine the rational and objective socio-historical realities from their most personal experiences in an extremely emotional way, or disseminate poetic and expansive imaginations with delicate emotions, using art as an important medium of expression to allow the true power of life to blossom.

Nowadays, individuals have more opportunities to express their emotions on online platforms, yet at the same time, they face a great impact from the public discourse. In collective living, the invisible public discourse requires people to “manage emotions” in the external space. Perhaps only when the lights go out can people truly face their private inner selves and express those pessimistic and limber emotions that are usually considered as “weaknesses”.
