Sixi Museum is delighted to announce a group exhibition themed on NATURE from 23 July to 23 October 2024, featuring works by artists from a variety of geographic cultures - China, the UK, the US and Denmark. Through abundant media such as photography, interactive installation, sculpture and painting, the exhibition will present works that explore the intrinsic connection between human beings and the nature.

Excessive intervention and modification of the environment has resulted in scare remnants, the neglected reverence for nature is turning the Chinese allegory - Drain the pond to get at the fish - into reality. Yet, nature can never be separated from mankind. In response to this imbalanced relationship, the artists endeavour to address the history of “I” and all creatures of the earth, and to elaborate the possibilities of an enduring future.

Photographs of Parisian mountains, natural stones collected on hikes, recorded sounds of nature, farm landscapes in memory - for the participating artists, the materials taken from nature ultimately return to nature: some perceive the spirituality of heaven and earth from Tibetan Buddhism, exploring the inherent circulation of the order of life; some take the trauma left behind by the confrontation between man and nature as a reference to depict the tumultuous present; some use the chaotic world constructed by ancient myths as a prototype to portray a mysterious and contradictory ecological universe. Through artistic approch, the simplicity of nature is revealed, in accordance with the rhythm of life.

A Poem Lovely as a Tree aims to guide the audience to a deeper experience of the power and vitality of nature through a multi-sensory presentation, to construct a dialogue between the ancient and the modern, to re-examine the interactive relationship between human and nature, to preserve the realm of nature, and to cherish the vastness of all spiritual living beings.
