Event Review
On the 15th of June, Sixi Museum, together with independent illustrator Mr Pea and psychotherapist Cui Yin, organised an art collage workshop.
The event started with a conversation between the guests. Afterwards, under the guidance of Mr Pea, accompanied by relaxing music, the audience started to create with colouring powder and fabric by painting and sewing. Without aiming at the perfection and refinement of their handcraft, participants gained the experience of rediscovering their own lives through intuition and the instinct of “play”.
Upon completion, the brightly coloured, childlike fabrics were assembled together and hung in the exhibition hall as a brand-new creative exhibit, bursting with emotional tension and resonance. The power of art heals the anxieties and fills every moment with curative meaning.
Through this therapeutic event, Sixi hopes to arouse people’s courage to try new things, to listen to the sound of their hearts through art practice, and to connect with their deepest selves. Maybe there is no need to obsessively pursue the meaning of life, as the answers can be found simply in the colours and textures of art.
