Event Review | Sixi Museum x Yu Yu: Rainbow Painting Workshop
On November 10th, bathed in the warm glow of the exhibition Chasing Rainbow through the Light was glad to have a group of special visitors. They were the inspiration behind this exhibition — children from Nanjing Rainbow Center. As these little artists returned to the exhibiting hall that had been brightened by them, a journey of colors and creation came full circle in the softest way.
Led by participating artist Yu Yu, the workshop began with interpreting the secrets of colors: when blue meets red, purple is born; as yellow embraces blue, vibrant green blooms across the palette. The kids squeezed paint onto their palettes with their own hands, stirred gently with cotton swabs, and witnessed the magic of color mixing. Different proportions of hues blended into shades that reflected their unique preferences.
With this fresh understanding of colors, they set out to paint their "rainbows". Under their brushes, bright arcs of color leaped onto the paper, which symbolizing as the pure hope and joy straight from their hearts. They then picked up their brushes again, letting their imaginations shine with unadulterated radiance.
In the end, the children searched the exhibition hall for their own displayed works joyfully. At that moment, art was not just a tool for expression, but a light that illuminated the one-of-a-kind soul of each child.
