Chasing the Rainbow through the Light
Charity Exhibition
As the writer Hermann Hesse once noted his insight through Siddhartha's life journey ‘When a person walks through the world with simplicity, awakening, unweavering focus, how beautiful and charming the world becomes.’ The beauty of the world is a gentle reflection of our inner state, not an objective existence waiting to be discovered.
The Charity & Public Welfare Exhibition Chasing the Rainbow through the Light invites us to jointly explore the grace and radiance hidden in daily life and flickering in the gaps of existence from three perspectives.
The children from Rainbow Center have embarked on the farthest journey with their hearts. They are innocent observers, using their paintbrushes to filter the complexities of the world and translate the beauty they have experienced or imagined into pure colors on paper. Their works form the cornerstone of this exhibition, guiding us on this collective journey. Young artists Ma Xiaomeng, Qian Qian, Yu Yu, Zhou Kairui, and Zhou Yijun set out from inner sojourns, extending their tentacles of traversing the world to the traces of flowing time, the trees along the journey, and the creatures coexisting with us. With distinct brushwork and emotions, they let life bloom in diverse forms. To traverse is in itself a kind of illumination.
Meanwhile, resident artists from Sixi AiR Program—Simon Linington, Eduardo Rito, and Zayn Qahtani—immerse themselves in Nanjing as ‘the other’ from a cultural perspective. They traverse the city with fresh eyes, viewing the landscapes we take for granted through heterogeneous cultural perspectives.
The significance of "traversing" lies not in arrival, but in the process of seeing and feeling. We hope to walk with every visitor, following the unique rainbow in their hearts, passing through the path of light emanating from love and converging through paintbrushes, to discover the beautiful and charming world.
