Event Review
On 19th April, Sixi Museum, in collaboration with U Box Studio, held a children’s workshop, inspired by Tong Kunniao’s installation art in the centre of the exhibition hall,‘Jade Bead in Flying Dust’, which is full of used objects such as Piggy Peach rubber dolls, motorbike mirrors and electronic lights, slowly rotated and maintained a stable balance.
The children in the workshop enjoyed the fascination of combining art and science. After shaking and balancing the items repeatedly, they placed the balancing bird made of paper on their fingers, and using the bottle as the base, they positioned old toys and used daily necessities they brought on either end of the balance.
A small gravity laboratory was filled with their childishness and imagination at this moment, the slowly wobbling installations are like dynamic sculptures that can breathe, filled with the whims of each little artist, a testament to their experimentation with science and order, as well as a way of preserving precious childish memories.
