Event Review
The closing of the exhibition ‘Lights Out’, which is themed on multiple emotional spaces, coincided with 2025 Valentine’s Day, Sixi Museum and Bei Wei Screening held a special evening date with our audience.
Three Taiwanese short films - Penguin Girl, Our Last Day and Are We Good? were selected by Wang Huangde, supervisor of Taiwan Film Critics Association and curator of Cinema at Sea - Okinawa Pan-Pacific International Film Festival. Taiwan’s representative love-related short films of recent years are not constrained by commercialism and have more freedom in the choice of subject matter. The three short films show the different stages of love, all small traces of life are signs of love.
In the after screening session, Li Yuqiao, the director of Our Last Day and Xu Hongxuan, the director of Are We Good? had a lovely conversation with the audience. May this screening event give a different perspective on intimate relationships, embracing emotions in daily lives, allowing them to exist for better or for worse, and believing in the power that love can carry.
Sixi Screening Project:
Sixi Screening Project is s series of public educational film screening events initiated by Sixi Museum. Based on the objective of multi-dimensional understanding and conceptual re-interpretation, Sixi hopes to build a bridge of communication and interaction between the audience and the creators of artistic films by inviting the audio-visual narrative of images into the museum and echoing with the clues and themes of the art exhibitions. Sixi hopes to inspire the audience to think more about art, self and the multiple contexts of the current society through popular audio-visual forms of art communication.
