As winter is approaching, in conjunction with the children’s charity exhibition Entering the Rainbow World, Sixi Museum held a series of events, allowing children and adults to enjoy the warmth of each other’s company and moments that healed their hearts.
The children, who suffer from serious illnesses or cancers, and tutors of the Nanjing Rainbow Center visited Sixi Museum for a unique hands-on art experience, they were given a special lecture, in which knowledge of museum and fine art was introduced. For the first time, they tried creating art with ink and watercolor.
In Dad and I and Ukelele parent-child workshop, little carpenters and their parents worked together to complete a unique and unrepeatable ukulele instrument. For children, the presence of their parents is often the most precious gift.
In the Picture Book Workshop led by illustrator Mr Pea, children drew their favourite animals and childish imaginations, and transformed them into an exquisite little book. These are drawings and stories that belong only to childhood, telling about kids’ inner worlds and what their hearts desire.
In the psychological healing workshop Embrace your inner child, counselor Ni led the audience on a unique journey of inner exploration using OH cards in the artistic exhibition atmosphere. The child inside the mind of the adults, who had been neglected, blamed, flooded with fear, shame, aggression, but not noticed and accompanied, was seen, opened and embraced once again.
Finally, the exhibition closed with a charity auction party.
This art week harvested many precious healing moments, and moreover felt the goodwill and enthusiasm from caring people, comforting the children’s hearts with sincerity. May every rainbow child be free to perceive beauty and love, and may this love spread in the echo of the years without sorrow.
